Day 1; ARRIVAL IN KIGALI AND TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL Arrival at the Kigali International Airport, meet and greet with the guide and give you a short briefing about the trip. Transfer to the Hotel, check-in and acclimatize to the climate of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight

Day 2; KIGALI CITY TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel later start the Kigali city exploration. Get to learn more about Rwanda from the pre-colonial, colonial and post-colonial era as well as Genocide times. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial where over 259,000 Genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves. Visit Kandt house, the first German explore who settled in Kigali. Get to learn more about Rwanda history especially during colonial time by Germans. Visit the Campaign against Genocide museum. This museum tells part of the many Rwanda’s sad stories of the yesteryear, of despair, struggling to free people from the yoke of subjugation, the efforts and the sacrifices that were suffered and written during the time of rescuing the Tutsi from the strangling hands of Interahamwe; the campaign that was started from the parliament buildings and became successful, a “Campaign Against Genocide” (CAG Museum) was built in the parliamentary compound. End the day at the Question Coffee to taste the pure Rwandan coffee produced by women in cooperative. Dinner and overnight

Day 3; TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast at the hotel then transfer to Nyungwe National Park (7am) en-route do a historical minded exploration of Nyanza and Butare. Visit the King’s palace, the Ethnographic Museum which gives introduction to Rwanda’s kingdoms. Overnight

Day 4; CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN NYUNGWE & VISIT THE TEA ESTATE

Early breakfast at 4:30am then drive to the edge of the forest where chimpanzee trekking starts. Visit the tea estate in the afternoon. Overnight

Day 5; KAMIRANZOVU SWAMP & THE CANOPY WALK IN NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK

This day is dedicated to explore nature in Kamiranzovu swamp searching for the rare Ruwenzori turaccos, and the grauer’s swamp warblers etc. You will visit different locations in the park to try and see as much as you can and if possible all the 27 endemic birds of Albertine rift found in Nyungwe forest. The day ends with one of the most tourism highlight of Nyungwe by enjoying canopy walk in the forest. Overnight

Day 6; BIGUGU TRAIL IN NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK – BIRDING

Bigugu Mountain has the highest peak in the park. This day is dedicated to discovering the secrets of bigugu including the rare bird species and monkeys. You will continue to visit different locations in the park to try and see as much as you can and if possible all the 27 endemic birds of Albertine rift found in Nyungwe forest plus other species of monkeys. Overnight

Day 7; TRANSFER TO KIBUYE – BOAT CRUISE TO VISIT NAPOLEON AND AMAHORO ISLANDS

Breakfast then drive to drive to Kibuye at Lake Kivu. The Rwanda’s most attractive of lake ports, nestled in a series of interwoven and undulating hills and offering visitors spectacular views of the lake, its islands and the stunning surrounding countryside. It is considered one of Rwanda’s hidden treasures, with its lush green hills and peaceful breeze. Lunch at the hotel as you enjoy the views of the Lake. Transfer to the shores of the Lake Kivu to enjoy a boat ride to visit the Napoleon and Amahoro Islands to see a number of colorful birds, clouds of big fruit bats, learn the history of the lake and the beautiful views of the Lake surroundings.

Day 8; VISIT NYANGE SCHOOL & GENOCIDE MEMORIAL CHURCH AND TRANSFER TO KIGALI

Breakfast at the hotel start the visit to the Genocide memorial church where many Tusti killed expecting that no one will kill them in the house of God. Later visit the famous Nyange school where students were killed during Genocide after refusing to divide themselves into Tutsis and Hutus.

Day 9; TRANSFER TO GISENYI – LAKE KIVU

Transfer to Gisenyi on the Lake Kivu check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the fishing village and do the boat ride with traditional fishermen. Overnight

Day 10; TEA AND COFFEE TOUR

Breakfast then drive to start a Tea and Coffee tour in along the shores of the Lake Kivu. Experience the processes through which Rwandan Coffee and Tea has to pass through before reaching your nearby coffee shop. Relax at the Lake, Overnight

Day 11; TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Transfer from Nyungwe National Park to Volcanoes National Park via Ngororero. drive through the remotest villages of Rwanda as you enjoy local lifestyles. Overnight

Day 12; GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING & VISIT THE TWIN LAKES – BURERA AND RUHONDO

Early morning meet with your respective park rangers, who will take you to see the rare and Albertine rift endemic golden monkeys. Visit the twin lakes in the afternoon. Overnight

Day 13; CLIMB BISOKE MOUNTAIN OR DAINA FOSSEY NATURE WALK

Early morning meet with your respective park rangers who will take you to either the Diana Fossey nature walk to visit the Dian Fossey tomb and her favorite gorilla called Digit. OR climb mountain Bisoke that has a crater lake on top. Afternoon rest at the hotel or have a community walk near the hotel led by the guide. Overnight

Day 14; GORILLA TREKKING & VISIT THE BATWA COMMUNITY (PYGMIES)

After breakfast, we transfer to the park, completing our park formalities, we embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long-lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes is a magical experience. Be back at the base in time for lunch! Afternoon visit the Batwa community to learn more about their culture and how they live.Overnight

Day 15; DRIVE BACK TO KIGALI & TO AIRPORT

After breakfast then drive back to Kigali. Buy souvenirs at Caplak art shop, Kimironko market or Inema Art center before heading to Airport.
