16 Day Best of Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Kampala

Our driver/tour guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to Kampala, Depending on your arrival time we can choose to go for a guided city tour of Kampala on Boda Bodas or by car. We later checking and at your hotel for dinner and overnight: Travel time 1hr

Day 2: Journey to Sipi Falls with a Stop in Jinja

After breakfast you will drive to Jinja and do a walk along the nile, visit the source of the Nile by boat and take pictures. It is also possible to do white water rafting here. (Please let us know if you want to do white water rafting, because it must be booked in advance) continue and drive to siipi falls and check in for at your lodge for dinner and overnight: Travel time 7hrs

Day 3: Hiking the Foothills of Mount Elgon

You will have your breakfast and go for a hike to view the water falls, it’s a series of 3 water falls and highest is 100 meters high, This a beautiful waterfalls on the foot prints of Mt Elgon, hike to the highest waterfalls and take pictures, go for a walk on the slopes of Mt Elgon as you learn about the culture of the people leaving in the Mountains of Elgon. This place is known for its beautiful views of the eastern Rift Valley. These are the highest waterfalls in Uganda [100 metres high]

Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After your breakfast you will start your journey to Kidepo valley national park. This park is still undiscovered. You will pass by local villages and probably run into other tourists. The scenery and the views are very impressive! Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national park but few who make the long journey north through the wild frontier region of Karamoja would agree that it is also the most magnificent, Kidepo ranks among Africa’s wilderness park. From Apoka in the heart of the park, a savannah landscape extends far beyond the gazette area, towards horizons outlined by distant mountain ranges.Travel time 8hrs

Day 5: Game Drives in Kidepo Valley National Park

We will have our breakfast early in the morning and go on a morning game drive along the trails of kidepo valley. The park inhabits one of the most exciting faunas of any Ugandan parks, with over 80 species of mammals. Several of which are endemic to kidepo national park like the cheetah, the striped hyena the caracal and over 460 bird species including ostriches. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 6: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Arrive in the afternoon and check in at your lodge. You can relax or take a swim if the lodge has a pool.

Day 7: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

A very early morning rise to go for your Game drive on time to cross River Nile with Ferry and go for a game drive in search for predators and early risers on the Northern bank of the Nile. You may have a Chance to see game like hyenas, giraffes, Lions, birds,Hartebeests, buffalos, elephants, primates and others as well as different species of Birds. After the game drive return to the camp for lunch. In the afternoon go for a launch cruise on the great Victoria Nile to the Bottom of the falls. The boat ride will reward you with water game like hippos, crocodiles, elephants and plenty of birds dashing and walking along the banks. Dinner and overnight as above

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Depart early from Murchison Falls and head to Kibale National Park. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route and arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.

Travel time: Approximately 8 hours

Day 9: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

An early morning report to the park Headquarters ranger station for a short briefing to go for your chimp trekking. You will be briefed about the whole process of tracking and then you will head along the tracks in the forest to search for chimpanzees. The walk through the park will be guided providing information about not only the chimpanzees but also on flora and fauna. You will then meet the chimpanzees and spend sometime watching them feed and making their calls. If you are lucky to find them hunting this is the best time, as you watch them share the meat amongst themselves. After tracking you will have Lunch and later drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park to reach in the evening. Travel time 3hrs

Day 10: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up before sunrise to a cup of tea or a glass of water and then set off to the park tracks for a game drive to be able to see predators as they return to their hide outs and the early risers. During the drive watch out for game like the Leopards, Lions, giant forest hogs, hyenas, Uganda kobs, warthogs and others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for heavy breakfast and then later have lunch and later transfer for your afternoon Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The launch that takes you along the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes George and Edward will reward you with game like Hippos, elephants and buffaloes. Dinner and overnight as above

Day 11: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha

After breakfast, drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions. After a short game drive, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and check in at your accommodation.

Travel time: Approximately 7 hours

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You will carry you packed Lunch and be at the Park headquarters by 7am for briefing about your gorilla trekking experience before you say off for this remarkable experience of searching for the famous mountain gorillas. The activity takes 2- 9 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle however the thrill of encountering these humble and gentle giants erases the poor memories you went through while finding them. While looking out for the gorillas, except to meet a few other forest species such as monkeys, forest elephants duikers, birds and many more. Later we will drive to lake bunyonyi, arrival and checking for dinner and overnight. Travel time 3hrs

Day 13: Explorer lake Bunyonyi

Leisure breakfast and we later go for a guided boat cruise on the lake bunyonyi islands. visit different islands and learn about the culture of the people living around this lake. Learn about the famous Punishment island with the help of a local guide. The punishment island, is an island where young girls were dumped, Because of early pregnancy. This action was stopped after a girl who got impregnated before marriage and the family was on shame so they decided to take her to the water fall because the family new that she was excellent in swimming so she could service while at the island. Perhaps, At the waterfalls, the Elder brother was the one to push that girl down the falls stream. So this time around, this girl while she was pushed into the falls, she hold up his brother and died into the falls. The Parents Cried hard and kept saying that there son had no problem, and because of this action, Punishing of Girls that are impregnated before marriage, was stopped Among the 29 Islands, one over turned upside down and killed all the people that were on it because of the Old woman’s charms who was denied a drink. Diner and overnight at our lodge..

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

We will drive to Lake Mburo National Park through Mbarara town and sometimes we can have lunch here before we continue to Lake Mburo, a smaller but unique park, and the only one in the Western part of Uganda with impalas, zebras, elands. and topi. We will go for a village/cultural walk in the afternoon after arriving at our accommodation Travel time 4hrs

Day 15: Game drive and Boat trip on the Lake Mburo 

 Enjoy a morning game drive or go for a game walk in the park. We will take an afternoon boat trip on the Lake Mburo and another game drive in evening. This Small park has variety of animals, that is to say 68 mammal species, including a large number of Impalas (the antelope from which Kampala is named after), plain zebras, Uganda kobs, duikers, bushbucks, topis, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyenas, Defassa waterbucks, warthogs and 315 bird species. The vegetation is mainly open savannah of acacia trees, olea and boscia. This park is a natural haven for fauna and flora. Crocodiles and hippos will be easily seen when you take the boat trip.

Day 16 Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe. 

This is the day you will be reflecting of stories to tell after your 16 days of adventure and how it felt to be in nature, close to lions, Elephants, hippos and Gorillas. We will have a lazy morning at our lodge in lake mburo and drive to Kampala after breakfast. This is the last part of the safari that will bring us back to Kampala doing lazy activities like water experiment at the equator and photo shooting. Depending on your departure time we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.

3 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari

Day 1: Journey from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Our Safari Guide from Uganda Adventure Safaris will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala / Entebbe Town, depart by road from Kampala at about 7:00 am and head South Western Uganda. A brief stop at the Equator allows time for photographs. During the drive, you will see long-horned Ankole cattle, the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of the region, and beautiful panoramas. We have a lunch break en-route in Masaka / Mbarara town. We arrive at the park in Bwindi Forest in the late evening. Dinner and Overnight at our lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Very early in the morning before 8:00am, after an early breakfast, report to the ranger station for a briefing with the park ranger, set off for your Gorilla tracking activity in the forests of Bwindi. Gorilla tracking can be strenuous, you will need to carry a packed lunch, drinking water, wear comfortable boots or jungle shoes suitable for steep muddy slopes, put on ear plugs for those who feel uncomfortable with jungle sounds and take a rain jacket. Walking sticks will be made available for those that require one by the park rangers. In case you have the afternoon free, have a guided village walk to nearby communities to see and experience the different aspects of Ugandan lives, cultures and lifestyles like the Batwa pygmies. Dinner and overnight at our lodge.

Day 3: Return to Kampala

After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey back to Kampala, with a lunch stop en route. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel or the airport for your flight home.

This safari offers a unique opportunity to observe mountain gorillas in their natural habitat and experience the rich culture of Uganda.

15 Days Uganda Birding and Gorilla Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda – Welcome to the Pearl of Africa

Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay in Entebbe. If time allows, take a visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, where you can spot various bird species like the African Grey Parrot, Ross’s Turaco, and Black-and-white-casqued Hornbill. Rest and prepare for your exciting birding and gorilla safari adventure.

Travel time: 1 hour

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, set off for Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided nature walk to see the rhinos. This is the only place in Uganda where you can spot rhinos in the wild. Continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Travel time: 7 hours

Day 3: Game Drive and Birding in Murchison Falls National Park

We have an early morning breakfast and then go birding sighting Savanna birds and a game drive-in search for Wildlife. Look out for; Secretary Bird, Red-necked Falcon, Vinaceous Dove, Red-throated, Swallow-tailed and Carmine bee eaters, White-breasted Cuckoo-shrike, White-fronted black chat, Abyssian Ground hornbill, Abyssian Roller, Black-billed Barbet, Brown-backed Woodpecker, Spotted Morning Thrust, Bronze-tailed Starlings, Northern Red Bishop, Red-winged Pytilia, Black-bellied Firefinches, Black-rumped Waxbill and many more. Dinner and Overnight as above.

Day 4: Morning Boat Cruise to the Nile Delta – Birding Experience

Look out for; Little Grebe, Great White and Pink-backed Pelicans, Allen’s Gallinule, Black Crake, African Crake, Black-crowned Crane, Egyptian, African Pygmy, and the Spur-winged Gooses, Storks like; the Saddle-billed, Open-billed. More birds include, Woolly-necked, the Little Bitterns, Night Heron, Black Heron, Goliath Heron, Purple Heron, Green Backed Heron, Common Squacco Heron, Great and Long-tailed Cormorants, the African and Eurasian Spoonbills, the Lesser Flamingo, Lesser Jacana, African Finfoot, Painted Snipe, Wattled Plover and more.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Drive to Kibale Forest National Park, home to 13 primate species and over 300 bird species. En route, stop at the Albertine Rift escarpment for birding, looking out for species such as the Beautiful Sunbird, Chestnut-crowned Sparrow Weaver, and Foxy Cisticola. Arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: Birding in Kibale Forest & Chimpanzee Trekking

Start early when the birds are most active. Kibale is home to the Green-breasted Pitta, Western Bronze-naped Pigeon, Yellow-throated Nicator, and Dusky-blue Flycatcher. In the afternoon, embark on a guided chimpanzee trek. The forest echoes with calls of primates and birds, making it a thrilling experience.

Day 7: Birding in Bigodi Wetland & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Spend the morning birding in Bigodi Wetland, a sanctuary for the Great Blue Turaco, Papyrus Gonolek, and White-winged Warbler. After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time for an evening birding session near the Mweya Peninsula.

Travel time: 3 hours

Day 8: Birding Safari and Kazinga Channel Boat Ride

Early morning birding in the Mweya Peninsular and Kasenyi area for a Game drive & afternoon Kazinga Channel boat Safari, Look out for; African Skimmer, Malachite Kingfishers, White-winged Terns, Swamp Fly-catcher, Grey-capped Warbler, Grey-headed Kingfisher, African jacana, Pin-tailed Whydah, Martial Eagle, Gabon Nightjars. Great and Long-tailed Cormorants, Common Squacco Heron, African Skimmer, African Fish Eagle, Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl, Sedge Warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, Papyrus Canary, Great white and Pink-backed Pelicans, African Mourning Dove, African Open-billed Stork, Yellow-billed, Egyptian Goose, a number of Gull species, to mention but a few.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Ishasha

Leave early for Bwindi, stopping at the Ishasha sector for a chance to see the famous tree-climbing lions. En route, spot birds such as Grey-headed Negrofinch, Black-billed Weaver, and Stuhlmann’s Starling. Arrive at Bwindi in the evening.

Travel time: 5 hours

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking & Birding in Bwindi

Enjoy your Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest. Birding will be along the water fall trail for the Narrow-tailed Starling, Waller’s Starling, Montane Oriole, African Golden Oriole Strange Weaver, Brown-capped Weaver, Dusky Crimsonwing, Yellow-bellied Waxbill, Magpie Mannikin, Yellow crowned Canary, Thick-billed Seedeater, Streaky Seedeater, African Green Broadbill, Oriole Finch, Mountain Buzzard, Handsome Francolin, Black-billed Turacco, Barred Long-tailed Cuckoo, African Wood Owl. More species; Rwenzori Nightjar, Bar-tailed Trogon, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, (Western) Bronze-naped Pigeon, Red-chested Owlet, Tullberg’s Woodpecker, African Broadbill, Western Green Tinkerbird, African Green Broadbill, Lagdens Bush-Shrike, Petit’s Cuckoo-Shrike, Grey Cuckoo-shrike, Toro Olive-Greenbul, White-bellied Robin Chat, Olive Thrush, White-tailed Ant-Thrush, Grauer’s Rush-warbler, Neumann’s Warbler and Red-faced Woodland Warbler.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – The Place of Many Birds

Depart Bwindi for the scenic Lake Bunyonyi. Relax by the lakeside and enjoy birding. Spot species like the Pied Kingfisher, Malachite Kingfisher, and White-tailed Blue Flycatcher.

Travel time: 5 hours

Day 12: Birding on Lake Bunyonyi & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Take a morning boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to search for more bird species before heading to Lake Mburo National Park.

Travel time: 4 hours

Day 13: Birding and Boat Ride in Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, start birding in Lake Mburo National Park. Later in the midmorning take a boat trip on Lake Mburo after which continue birding in the savannah and woodlands. Species to look out for include the; Red-winged Francolin, Blue-spotted Wood Dove, Brown Parrot, Barefaced Go-away bird, Blue Quails, Common Button Quail, White-headed and Black- billed Barbet, Greenwood Hoopoe, Blue-napped Mousebird, Blue-breasted and Shining-blue Kingfishers, Lilac-breasted Roller, African-grey Hornbill, the Nubian, Buff-spotted, Brown-eared, and the Grey Woodpeckers. Trilling, Stout, and Wing-snapping Cisticolas, Black-bellied Bustard, African-wattled Plover, Rufous napped and Flappet larks, Rufous-chested Swallow, Yellow-throated Longclaw, Black-winged Bishop, Chubb’s, the Lesser and Great Swamp Warblers, Black Crake, Common Squacco, Striated, Goliath, Purple, Black-headed, Grey, and Black-headed Herons, Great White and Pink-backed Pelicans, the African Fish Eagle, among others.

Day 14: Return to Kampala with a Stop at the Equator

Drive back to Kampala, stopping at the Equator for photos and souvenirs. Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe for an overnight stay.

Day 15: Mabamba Swamp Excursion & Departure

An early morning transfer to Mabamba swamp the best place to see the Shoebill stork after which you are transferred to your hotel or Airport. Other birds to see; Veilots’s Black weaver, village weaver Orange weaver, Crowned Hornbill, Ross’s Turaco, Great Blue Turaco, Papyrus gonolek, Malachite Kingfisher, Pied Kingfisher, Shining Blue Kingfisher, Pied Wagtail etc.

16 Days Adventure and Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

We will pick you from the airport, hotel, of your choice and drive to Murchison Falls National Park. We will stop for lunch in Masindi and then drive through the park, aiming for Paraa. On the way we will visit the Top of the Falls, with a wonderful view over Murchison Falls NP and the Nile. We will reach Paraa late in the afternoon, We will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for tracking the Rhinos and also have Lunch here before contuiing via Karuma Bridge to reach later in the afternoon at Fort Murchison just outside the park boundaries. The day will close with a cool drink and a fabulous view over the river Nile, and the evening coming with all the noise of an African night.

Day 2: Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise

This is the day will wake up early in the morning for a game drive around the park and along the Nile. We will spend 5hrs spotting different animals like lions, buffaloes, giraffes. Elephants before the impressive launch trip on the Nile, up to the Falls, giving you a chance to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants and many many different birds!

Day 3: Delta Boat Cruise and Relaxation

We take an early boat cruise to the delta, where the two Niles meet and enter Lake Albert. This trip takes 5-6 hours and it show us all the beauty of this national park especially the delta with all the different birds. This is a good chance to see the elusive Shoebill Stork! In the afternoon you can relax, and if you are on the Luxury Tour you can swim at your respective Lodges.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Drive towards Kibale Forest National Park, passing near Lake Albert and enjoying spectacular views from the Albertine Rift Valley. Arrive at Kibale Forest Camp in the afternoon, where you’ll sleep amidst the sounds of the tropical rainforest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

Embark on a 4-hour chimpanzee tracking experience, with opportunities to see up to 10 other primate species. In the afternoon, explore Bigodi Swamp, a community-based project home to diverse birdlife and primates.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive through Fort Portal to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving around midday to a stunning view over the Kazinga Channel. After checking in and having lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 7: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Morning game drive on the plains to see Ugandan kobs, lions, elephants, and more. After lunch, take a two-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel to observe wildlife from the water.

Day 8: Kyambura Gorge Walk and Transfer to Ishasha

In the morning, take a 3-4 hour walk into Kyambura Gorge to track chimpanzees. After lunch, drive to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to see the famous tree-climbing lions.

Day 9: Travel to Lake Bunyonyi

Depart to lake bunyonyi after breakfast. This place is beautiful and surrounded by the hills of Western Uganda. The road takes us through a beautiful landscape called the Switzerland of Africa. This lake is famous for birds, otters and delicious crayfish. We spend the rest of the day here and swim if you want, try a canoe, or relax looking at the over 300 birds species you can sometimes see from the veranda (carry your binoculars)

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Drive to the southern part of Bwindi, enjoying stunning views of mountains, hills, lakes, and forests along the way.

Day 11: Gorilla Trekking Experience

Your guide will make sure you are at the Offices of Bwindi Impenetrable NP for pre-briefing by 7:45am and at 8:30am you will leave to the forest to trek these giants. After finding the Gorillas you will spend a maximum of 1 hour. Then you will start walking back to the starting point.

Day 12: Transfer to Kisoro

We will leave for Kisoro very early in the morning driving through the stunning and beautiful landscape. Mountains, lakes, hills with cultivated terraces, bambo forest and tropical rainforest. The landscape unfolds beneath us on the last hill and it takes in the vast planes between Uganda, Rwanda and Congo, with the Virunga volcanoes dominating the view. Kisoro is at the bottom of the valley and sometimes we can stay at the famous Travellers Rest Hotel which was visited by Dian Fossey the American gorilla-woman. She Visited it in the sixties and many other times to do paperwork, relax and meet people.

Day 13: Activities in Kisoro

We will spend this day in and around Kisoro at our lodge as the home base and there some activities in kisoro which you can undertake and they are very interesting activities. These activities can be done individually or in groups.

They include:

1. Climbing Muhavura Volcano (8 hrs; distance 12km; height 4127m; elevation gain 1700m).

2. Climbing Gahinga Volcano (6 hrs; distance 8km; height 3474m; elevation gain 1100m).

3. Visit to Sabinyo Gorge (4 hrs; distance 6km, no elevation gain).

4. Climbing Sabinyo Volcano (Sabinyo has three peaks, you can climb all three in the same walk, but you need to be fit!! 8 hrs; distance 14 km; height 3669m, elevation gain 1300 m).

5. Hiking in Mgahinga to the viewpoint and Garama Cave (pygmy cave) (4 hrs; distance 1 and 4 km).

6. Bird walk in Mgahinga (start at 10am, it can last until 4-5pm).

7. Cultural village walk (with a local guide walking through the land of the Bufumbira tribe)

8. Walk to Lake Mutanda. Visit Python island and go canoeing on this beautiful lake

9. Or just sit and relax or read a book in the garden of your lodge.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

We will drive to Lake Mburo National Park through mbarara town and sometimes we can have lunch here before we continue to Lake Mburo, a smaller but unique park, and the only one in the Western part of Uganda with impalas, zebras, elands. and topi. We will go for a village/cultural walk in the afternoon.

Day 15: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Enjoy a morning game drive or go for a game walk in the park. We will take an afternoon boat trip on the Lake Mburo and another game drive in evening. This Small park has variety of animals, that is to say 68 mammal species, including a large number of Impalas (the antelope from which Kampala is named after), plain zebras, Uganda kobs, duikers, bushbucks, topis, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyenas, Defassa waterbucks, warthogs and 315 bird species. The vegetation is mainly open savannah of acacia trees, olea and boscia. This park is a natural haven for fauna and flora. Crocodiles and hippos will be easily seen when you take the boat trip.

Day 16: Return to Entebbe/Kampala

This is the day you will be reflecting of stories to tell after your 16 days of adventure and how it felt to be in nature, close to lions, Elephants, hippos and Golliras. We will have a lazy morning at our lodge in lake Mburo and drive to Kampala after breakfast. This is the last part of the safari that will bring us back to Kampala doing lazy activities like water experiment at the equator and photo shooting.

10 Days Eastern Uganda Photography Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe/Kampala

You will be welcomed by a Company representative from Uganda Adventure Safaris, who will transfer you to your hotel either in Entebbe or Kampala Town. Depending on the time of your arrival, our guide will take you on a city tour for an exciting introduction of the Capital City Kampala. You will choose to either enjoy your city tour on the Back of a Motorbike ‘Boda Boda’, on foot or in a car. Visit interesting and historical sites and Monuments such as the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, the Uganda Museum, Bahai Temple, King’s Palace, the City’s main local Markets, Religious Sites and the African Craft Village.You will later be transferred to your Hotel for Dinner and overnight at your lodge:

Day 2: Journey to Jinja

After an early breakfast, drive east to Jinja, known as the adventure capital of Uganda and the source of the Nile River. En route, visit:

  • Ssezibwa Falls: Experience a cultural tour of these scenic falls.
  • Mabira Forest: Enjoy a nature walk, observing primates, birds, butterflies, and diverse tree species.

Upon arrival in Jinja, have lunch and take a boat ride to the source of the Nile, where Lake Victoria meets the river. Visit the Gandhi monument before heading to your accommodation by the Nile for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Whitewater Rafting on the Nile

After your breakfast you will set off for the most exciting adventure on the Nile River; White water rafting. The rafting begins at the Source of the Nile at 09:00am with a comprehensive briefing as well as being fitted in the rafting gear. The rafting is done on an 18 kilometer stretch of the Nile River and no prior experience of rafting is required. The first few rapids are off low grade (1, 2) to build the confidence of the participants before guiding them gradually into the more challenging grades. This adventure will take you through a total of 8 magnificent rapids that are rafted on the Nile to maximize the adrenaline rush of the adventure, you will also be rewarded with spectacular views of the magnificent Nile River. After the rafting adventure, you will be treated to a barbecue lunch and drinks before transferring back to your lodge / Guest House to enjoy your dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Transfer to Sipi Falls and Coffee Tour

We depart Jinja and drive further to the verdant hills of Eastern Uganda to the beautiful Sipi Falls. This drive takes you through Mbale, a charming town at the foot of the Mount Elgon. This area is full of rich heritage and fascinating culture. With beautiful view points on our way we will reach Sipi Village, nestled between mountains, these waterfalls are found in Kapchorwa district. On arrival at our accommodation, you will enjoy your Lunch and later in the afternoon you will take a community visit around the Sipi area Centered on meeting the Sebei tribe and a coffee tour to experience how coffee is grown and processed. On the Mount Elgon area, coffee is the major cash crop grown. The community tour will expose you to local methods of coffee growing, management and processing. Later in the evening we drive you to the Hotel for dinner and overnight as you enjoy stunning views of siipi falls

Coffee Tour: Learn about local coffee cultivation and processing methods in the Mount Elgon area.

In the evening, relax at your accommodation with views of Sipi Falls.

Day 5: Hiking the Sipi Falls

An early start to enjoy a sunrise view of the falls as you enjoy your breakfast after go for a hike to the beautiful, stunning and breathtaking water falls on the foothills of Mount. Elgon that cascade over a 100metre cliff. You will follow the challenging trail to two other waterfalls that measure 75 and 85 meters. The Walk takes you through maize fields, coffee gardens, banana plantations and typical African homesteads on your way as you enjoy the breathtaking views over the laid out valley. Those interested in experiencing a real thrill of watching the waterfalls from a very close distance will go abseiling down the mountain to the bottom of the famous Sipi Falls. Take as many photos as you love and after the Hike to the Falls, we will transfer back to the Lodge to end the day with a beautiful setting Sun with breathtaking views of the Falls. Later enjoy your dinner and overnight as above.

Day 6: Transfer to Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve

You will wake up early in the Morning for a Sunrise breakfast before proceeding further to the North Eastern part of Uganda to discover the untouched serene wilderness of North-eastern Uganda to explore Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve. Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve is located in the north-eastern part of Uganda and covers an area of 2275 square kilometres, making it the second-largest Protected Area in the country. This vast Wildlife Reserve is part of the Greater Mount Elgon Conservation Area and harbours a wide range of extraordinary wildlife and bird species that can be sighted from this Reserve such as cheetahs, jackals, Ostrich, Roan antelopes, leopards, greater kudus, and many others. Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve offers unforgettable game viewing experiences, birding and cultural entertainment from the nearby Karamojong communities and great Photography for the rugged landscape and wilderness scenery. After your Game drive proceed to your Accommodation for Dinner and Overnight.

Travel time 3hrs

Day 7: Journey to Kidepo Valley National Park

After your breakfast we proceed with our journey to Kidepo Valley national park. The Park was gazetted as a national park in 1962 and it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as about 475 bird species. Kidepo National Park ranks among Africa’s finest untouched wildernesses with a picturesque savannah landscape extending far beyond the gazeted area, towards horizons outlined by distant mountain ranges. You will reach the park on time for your lunch. After some relaxation in the late afternoon if time allows you will head out through the park to enjoy the peace and beauty of the park on a leisure drive at your pace in search for Cheetahs, Buffaloes, Zebras, Giraffes, Elephants, lions, leopards and some birds as you enjoy the dramatic nature and a journey through Karamoja the home of the Karamojong people this is truly an unforgettable experience. Later return to the Lodge for dinner and Overnight at:

Day 8: Full-Day Game Viewing in Kidepo Valley National Park

Get up early for breakfast, embark on an extensive all day Game drive in Kidepo valley national park. You will carry a packed lunch and with the company of a ranger guide, start your search for the animals and birds of Kidepo. The park ranger will help you spot the lions that may be sitting on the valley’s various rocks. Other wildlife includes elephants, leopard, bush duiker, jackal, bushbuck, bush pig, ostrich, buffalo and much more, in the wild Narus Valley. Enjoy great views of the wilderness as you proceed through the open plains towards mountains across the border area of Uganda and Sudan where the Kanangorok hot springs are located for you to enjoy a brief walk to observe and photograph. Here you will enjoy more wildlife viewing and if lucky you will be able to see ostriches in this area as this is the only National Park in Uganda where you can find the cheetah and ostrich.

The game drive will traverse open plains that extend past Kanangorok Hot Springs towards mountains across the Sudanese border. While at the hot springs, you will take a brief walk to observe and photograph. This is the part of the park where ostriches are most commonly seen. End the evening with dinner and Overnight at the lodge or Camp as above.

Day 9: Nature Walk and Cultural Village Tour

After an early breakfast, there is a range of Nature walks to choose from as Kidepo valley national park offers a range of nature walks depending on your strength or preference. Shorter guided walks around two hours can be taken through the Narus Valley extending over a 5km radius from Apoka Tourism Centre. The walk to Lomej Mountains can last four hours, the hike starts at 7 am. Guests can also wander along the splendid Kidepo River Valley between banks of attractive borasius palm forest. Namamkweny Valley can be reached in one hour from Apoka. Later after your Lunch, you will be taken on a guided cultural village tour visiting a Karamojong Village where you will learn about the nomadic lifestyle of the people around Karenga and Kidepo. During this cultural tour you will visit the Karamojong homesteads (manyattas) and see the kraals of cattle, the traditional costumes, stools, spears, headdress, knives, bows and arrows, jewelry, grinding stones and utensils all made locally by the natives. See how these locals live and learn about their culture. Learn how these locals make their distinctive beads, sample the local cuisine, and even learn the tribe’s folklore and beliefs

Day 10: Return to Kampala and Departure

After breakfast, embark on the journey back to Kampala, passing through remote Ugandan villages and natural landscapes. Enjoy lunch en route. Upon arrival in Kampala, proceed to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight,

9 Days Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife Photographic

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe/Kampala

Upon arrival, a representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore Kampala’s historical sites, such as the Uganda Museum, Bahá’í Temple, King’s Palace, local markets, religious sites, and the African Craft Village. Later, enjoy dinner and rest at your hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Our safari guide will pick you up from your Hotel, you will depart by Road for Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at the Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola to trek Rhinos. This trek takes between a few minutes to an hour depending on where the Rhinos are located within the Sanctuary. After the trek enjoy your lunch and after Proceed to Murchison Falls National park where you will arrive to your Lodge on time for your Dinner and Overnight. ravel time 6hrs

Day 3: Game Drive and Nile River Boat Cruise

Wake up very early in the morning to a cup of tea before rise to go for your Game drive in search for predators and early risers on the Northern bank of the Nile. You may have a Chance to see game like hyenas, giraffes, Lions, birds, Hartebeests, buffalos, elephants, primates and others as well as different species of Birds as you explore the Murchison Falls National Park with magical photographic moments of Wildlife, nature, landscape. After the game drive return to the lodge / camp for lunch. In the afternoon go for a 2 hour launch cruise on the great Victoria Nile to the Bottom of the falls. The boat ride will reward you with water game like several hippos and crocodiles as well as elephants and plenty of birds dashing and walking along the banks. Capture moments in photos of Giraffes as they move through the grasslands, Buffalos, Jackson Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Lions, and many more. After the boat ride to the bottom of the falls, you will hike to the top of the falls where 1 Km wide Nile forced is forced through a 7 metre narrow gorge forming the Murchison falls known as the most powerful falls, with a thunderous roar. After this great moment we transfer back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Depart early for Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for its chimpanzee population. Enjoy lunch en route and arrive at your lodge in the evening. Settle in for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

An early morning report to the park Headquarters ranger station for a short briefing to go for your chimpanzee trekking. You will be briefed about the whole process of tracking and then you will head along the tracks in the forest to search for chimpanzees. The walk through the park will be guided providing information about not only on chimpanzees but also on flora and fauna. You will then meet the chimpanzees and spend sometime watching them feed and making their calls.

If you are lucky to find them hunting this is the best time, as you watch them share the meat amongst themselves. After tracking you will have Lunch and later drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park to reach in the evening. Dinner and overnight. Travel time 3hrs

Day 6: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Wake up before sunrise to a cup of tea or a glass of water and then set off to the park tracks for a game drive to be able to see predators as they return to their hide outs and the early risers. During the drive watch out for game like the Leopards, Lions, giant forest hogs, hyenas, Uganda kobs, warthogs and others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for heavy breakfast and then later have lunch and later transfer for your afternoon Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The launch that takes you along the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes George and Edward will reward you with game like Hippos, elephants and buffaloes at the shores not forgetting plenty of birds. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy lunch en route and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

In the morning you will have heavy breakfast and with packed lunch, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and then later on at 8:00 am, set off along the tracks to penetrate the impenetrable forest in search for these great apes. Depending on the movement of these humble giants the walk might take between 2-9 hours before you encounter the Gorillas. The walk is tiresome. However, meeting these great apes and spending some time with them while looking deep into their expressive brown eyes, is an exhilarating and a breathtaking experience. Later depending on the time of completion of the Gorilla trek, you will later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Island in Kabale. If time allows, take a boat ride on the lake to visit neighboring pygmy tribes with their unique culture. Enjoy dinner and overnight. Travel time 3hrs

Day 9: Return to Kampala/Entebbe

After an early breakfast, depart Lake Bunyonyi and drive back to Kampala, passing through Mbarara Town. Stop for lunch in Masaka or Mbarara and visit the equator for souvenir shopping and photo opportunities. Upon arrival in Kampala, transfer to your hotel or proceed to Entebbe Airport for your departure flight.

10 Days Uganda Adventure Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

  • Travel time: 30 minutes

Day 2: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

We will pick you up and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We will stop at the equator for pictures and witness the water experiment take place, continue and drive to Bwindi with a lunch stop en route in Mbarara town. Arrival at our hotel for checkin, dinner and overnight.

Travel time: 8 hours

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience

We will have an early morning breakfast and drive to the the Park headquarters to be there by 7am for briefing about your gorilla trekking experience before setting off for this remarkable experience of searching for the famous mountain gorillas. The activity takes 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle however the thrill of encountering these humble and gentle giants erases the poor memories you went through while finding them. While looking out for the gorillas, except to meet a few other forest species such as monkeys, forest elephants duikers, birds and many more. You will carry packed lunch for the lodge and you will have a breakfast during the Trekk before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight at day one’s accommodation.

Day 4: Transfer to Rwenzori Mountains via Ishasha

We will have breakfast and drive to Kasese near the Rwenzori Mountain. Arrive at your lodge in Kasese early enough for lunch and an afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga channel where you expect to see a lot of water species like hippos, water buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, water birds and many more. The travel time 4-5hrs so we will have enough time to even go for a game drive in Ishasha to look for the tree climbing lions. We will later drive back to our lodge for dinner and over night.

Day 5: Hike in the Rwenzori Mountains

Start the Trekk at the Trekkers hostel at 1450 meters and sleep at sine hut at about 2560 meters. We will start by walking up the valley floor through tall forest trees of the Afro montane forest zone. This is a steady climb for the first six kilometres then after crossing a river it is a steep climb up to sine camp. The forest trees are very tall with multitudes of birds and a chance of seeing the blue monkeys scampering through the forest. Enock’s falls are just 200 meters from sine hut and offer a splendid opportunity to capture a great screensaver for your memories as brightly clouded green lichen grow on the many lives hanging from the trees with the waterfall as a background. At Sine Camp 2,596 metres we have wooden huts set between tall forest trees on a narrow ridge where you may sit and enjoy the beauty forest while you look down at a long set of rapids and waterfall crashing over the rocks. Some clients prefer to sit outside enjoying the warmth of the campfire and chat to the guides about the mountains and life in their community. Sine is just below the bamboo zone and the area around has many different bird species. 150 meters from the camp is Enock falls which is set in livid green vegetation and hanging vine. Truly beautiful. You can sleep at Sine Camp, or those who are fit and want to proceed to Kalalama Camp at 3,134 metres may do so and apart from the fantastic views

Day 6: Descend Rwenzori Mountains

After a good breakfast and depending on which camp you slept in depends of todays activities. If you slept in Kalalama Camp you will hear the calls of the Rwenzori Turaco which loves living and nesting in the Giant Heathers which are abundant here. You may choose to search out the Turaco to get good photos or you may decide to climb up at little farther to see the mosses growing on the ground, logs and trees before returning down to just above Sine Camp where you take the trail on the left slope down to Enock Falls which is truly beautiful and walk down through some incredibly beautiful forest. The forest walk is a steady descent through pristine forest with a multitude of birds. There are several patches of bamboo while other areas the trees are laced with hundreds of vines hanging between trees which have bright green lichen on them. This section of forest is spectacular and just before you get to Sine Camp you walk across a stream immediately below a beautiful waterfall. At Sine Camp you sit on the verandah and look down to a stunning set of rapids cascading down the valley.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale Forest for Chimpanzee Trekking

We will have breakfast and drive to Kibale forest arrive mid morning for a check in at your lodge and lunch. We will then go for an afternoon chimpanzee Trekking. We will have an early morning breakfast and drive to the park Headquarters ranger station for a short briefing about your chimp trekking. You will be briefed about the whole process of tracking and then you will head along the tracks in the forest to search for chimpanzees. The walk through the park will be guided providing information about not only the chimpanzees but also on flora and fauna. You will then meet the chimpanzees and spend sometime watching them feed and making their calls. If you are lucky to find them hunting this is the best time, as you watch them share the meat amongst themselves you will then visit the bigodi community walk where you learn about locals activities like making banana beer and banana juice, digging in the garden, women weaving baskets. We visit a coffee garden and learn how to pick coffee, roast and make coffee powder and carry some as souvenir. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 8: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

We will have an early morning breakfast and depart Kibale for Murchison Falls National Park. Arrive early afternoon for lunch at red chili and later we cross to the north of the park for sunset game drive as we drive to our lodge.experience that you will never find We will continue and drive to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Nile

An early wake rise by 6.00am, take a quick cup of coffee or tea with a snack to warm your tummy and set off for the early game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. This park is divided by River Nile into the south and northern region. The northern part that is largely covered by savannah and woodland support a lot more volume and variety of animals compared to the southern region which has a bigger chunk covered by forest. For that matter therefore the game drives are done in the northern area of Murchison Falls. The early start offers a better chance to find elusive predators such as Lions, Hyenas, Leopard, and Jackal because they are still out actively hunting. Explore the game trails towards the Nile delta which is concentrated with big game such as the Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, and so many Antelopes. Enjoy the beautiful savannah landscape that is immersed with plenty of life and wonderful scenery. (Good for photography) The game drive will last for 4 hours, and you will return to the lodge for lunch and relax. After lunch you will set out for a 2hr boat cruise which sets off at Paraa, going upstream to the base of the Murchison Falls. Boat ride offers an array of wildlife sightings. Crocodile, Hippos, and lizards are a common sight throughout the cruise. Big game such Buffaloes, Elephants and Antelopes can also be sighted drinking and cooling off the heat by the river banks. We will then drive back to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Return to Entebbe & Departure

This is the day you will be reflecting of stories to tell after your adventure and how it feels to be close to the mountain gorillas our closest relatives, Chimpanzees our closest cousins, how it feels to be close to the largest mammals on land elephants and how it feels to be close to he king of the jungle, Lions and many other wildlife mammals. We will have breakfast and drive to Kampala with a lunch stop en route. On the arrival to Kampala we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.

12 Day Uganda Wildlife and Gorilla Trekking Safari

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Kampala

Our guide will pick you up from Entebbe Airport and drive you to Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a guided city tour by car or boda boda. Later, check in at your hotel for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Rhino Trekking & Transfer to Murchison Falls

Our safari guide will pick you up from your hotel and you depart by road for Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola through the Kampala– Gulu road, a smooth paved road. You will arrive the Zziwa Rhino sanctuary on time for your Rhino trekking enjoy an afternoon guided trek to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary giving you a rare opportunity to see the Rhinos not from a vehicle but from up close and on foot, you have some great and unusual photo opportunities here as you encounter the White Rhinos of Ziwa.

This Rhino Sanctuary is more like the foundation of the restoration of the Rhino population in Uganda. By the end of 1982, rhinos were pretty much extinct in Uganda.

They had been endlessly poached and killed. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is not a zoo; it is a sanctuary where the Rhinos can move around in safety. Later you will continue and drive to murchison Falls National Park to check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight:

Day 3: Game Drive & Boat Cruise on the Nile

Enjoy the beautiful savannah landscape that is immersed with plenty of life and wonderful scenery. The game drive will last for 4 hours, and you will return to the lodge breakfast and relax.

After lunch set out for a 2hr boat cruise which sets off at Paraa, going upstream to the base of the Murchison Falls. Boat ride offers an array of wildlife sightings. Crocodile, Hippos, and lizards are a common sight throughout the cruise. Big game such Buffaloes, Elephants and Antelopes can also be sighted drinking and cooling off the heat by the river banks. You will come out of the boat and set out for a 45 Minute Hike to the top of the falls thereby accessing great views of the falls at different spots along the trail. On reaching the top you will find the tour guide waiting to drive you back to the lodge. We Later return to lodge for Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest

Transfer to Kibale forest National Park. We will have breakfast and start driving to Kibale forest National Park. through the escarpments with a beautiful scenery of the great western Rift Valley. You will have lunch en route and later arrival and Check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight:

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Community Walk

An early morning report to the park Headquarters ranger station for a short briefing to go for your chimp trekking. You will be briefed about the whole process of tracking and then you will head along the tracks in the forest to search for chimpanzees. The walk through the park will be guided providing information about not only the chimpanzees but also on flora and fauna. You will then meet the chimpanzees and spend sometime watching them feed and making their calls. If you are lucky to find them hunting this is the best time, as you watch them share the meat amongst themselves you will then visit the bigodi community walk where you learn about locals activities like making banana beer and banana juice, digging in the garden, women weaving baskets.

We visit a coffee garden and learn how to pick coffee, roast and make coffee powder and carry some as souvenir. We will then continue and drive to Queen Elizabeth National park with stops en route for pictures and picnics at the crater lakes, we will continue to drive and check in at our lodge for dinner and overnight:

Day 6: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

After your breakfast, you will drive to Kasenyi plains for the chance to spot a lot of wild game view in the park. watch these guys like elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas and buffaloes. Expect to have the great scenic view of different volcanic craters en route. The activity takes 3-4hrs. We will have lunch and then go for a guided boat cruise on the Kazinga channel where a lot of water species are expected to be seen. We will later return back to our lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 7: Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector

After your morning breakfast, We will start driving to Bwindi Impenetrable forest with a wide game View en route in Ishasha on the lookout for the tree climbing Lions again and other Savannah wildlife species for 2-3 hours like elephants, buffaloes, hyenas and leopards. Lunch en route as you proceed to Bwindi impenetrable Forest Park. On arrival check in to your Lodge for dinner and Overnight at:

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking Experience

We will have breakfast and then drive to the park headquarters by 7am for briefing about your gorilla trekking experience before you say off for this remarkable experience of searching for the famous mountain gorillas. The activity takes 2- 9 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle however the thrill of encountering these humble and gentle giants erases the poor memories you went through while finding them. While looking out for the gorillas except to meet a few other forest species such as monkeys, forest elephants duikers, birds and many more. After the gorilla trekking we will drive to Mghahinga national park. On the arrival we will checkin at our lodge for dinner and overnight:

Day 9: Golden Monkey Trekking

We will have breakfast and then drive to the park headquarters for briefing, We will then go for the golden monkey trekking . They are one of the most endangered primate species found in only four national parks of Virunga mountain ranges. After the trekking we will drive back back to the lodge for refreshment as we wait for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 10: Second Gorilla Trek & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Today you will Trekk a different family of gorillas in a different national park. You will get up very early for breakfast and go for gorilla trekking. Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 9 hours, but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. If time allows after the gorilla trekking we can continue and drive to lake bunyonyi and check in at nice lodge by the lake.

Day 11: Explore Lake Bunyonyi

Leisure breakfast and we later go for a guided boat cruise on the lake bunyonyi islands. visit different islands and learn about the culture of the people living around this lake. Learn about the famous punishment island with the help of a local guide. The punishment island, is an island where young girls were dumped, Because of early pregnancy. This action was stopped after a girl who got impregnated before marriage and the family was on shame so they decided to take her to the water fall because the family new that she was excellent in swimming so she could service while at the Island. Perhaps, At the waterfalls, the Elder brother was the one to push that girl down the falls stream. So this time around, this girl while she was pushed into the falls, she hold up his brother and both died into the falls.

The Parents Cried had and kept saying that their son had no problem, and because of this action, Punishing of Girls that are impregnated before marriage, was stopped. Among the 29 Islands, one over turned upside down and killed all the people that were on it because of the Old woman’s charms who was denied a drink. Diner and overnight as day 10:

Day 12: Return to Kampala & Departure

This is the day you will be reflecting of stories to tell after your 12 days of adventure and how it feels to be close to the lions, elephants, gorillas, chimpanzees and many more. We will have breakfast and drive back to Kampala with a stop at the equator for pictures and lunch. Continue and arrive in Kampala and on the arrival we transfer you to your hotel or Entebbe airport for your flight back home.

12 Days Rwanda and Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda

Welcome to Rwanda! Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, your friendly guide will greet you and take you on a tour of the vibrant city. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s history, explore local markets for unique crafts, and check out historical sites. Afterward, head to your comfortable hotel, where you can relax and enjoy a delicious dinner while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

Day 2: Drive to Akagera National Park & Afternoon Boat Safari

After breakfast, set off on a scenic drive to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savanna park. Once there, embark on a morning game drive, where you’ll have a chance to see elephants, zebras, buffaloes, and even lions. In the afternoon, hop on a boat cruise along Lake Ihema to spot hippos, crocodiles, and an incredible variety of bird species. End the day with dinner at your lodge, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive & Night Safari

Today is packed with adventure! Begin the day with an extended game drive, covering the diverse landscapes of Akagera. Drive through savannas, woodlands, and wetlands in search of giraffes, leopards, antelopes, and more. After a relaxing dinner at the lodge, prepare for an exciting night safari, where you’ll spot nocturnal creatures like hyenas, bush babies, and owls under the starry sky.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Return to Kigali

Wake up early for one last game drive in Akagera before heading back to Kigali. Enjoy lunch in the city, then spend the afternoon at leisure. You can shop for souvenirs, explore more cultural sites, or simply unwind at your hotel as you prepare for the next adventure.

Day 5: Journey to Nyungwe Forest via King’s Palace

After breakfast, travel to Nyungwe Forest National Park. On the way, stop at the King’s Palace in Nyanza to learn about Rwanda’s royal history, then visit the Ethnographic Museum for a glimpse into the country’s rich heritage. Enjoy a traditional Rwandan lunch before arriving at your lodge nestled in the heart of the rainforest.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk

Start your day early with a guided trek to find chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest. Watch them swing through the trees and interact in their natural habitat. Later, challenge yourself with a canopy walk, crossing a suspended bridge high above the forest floor, offering breathtaking views of the jungle and its wildlife.

Day 7: Drive to Kibuye – Relax by Lake Kivu

Leave the forest behind and drive to Kibuye, a peaceful lakeside town on the shores of Lake Kivu. Spend the afternoon exploring the tranquil beaches, visiting local fishing villages, or just enjoying the stunning views of the lake. Unwind at your lodge and listen to the gentle waves as you rest.

Day 8: Boat Cruise on Lake Kivu & Drive to Volcanoes National Park

Start your morning with a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Kivu, passing by lush islands and observing local fishermen at work. After lunch, take a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, where you’ll check in at a lodge near the park and prepare for the ultimate gorilla trekking experience.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking & Cultural Visit

Get ready for one of the most exciting days of your journey! Head into the dense rainforest of Volcanoes National Park for a guided gorilla trek. Spend an hour observing these incredible primates as they feed, play, and interact. In the afternoon, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to experience traditional Rwandan music, dance, and storytelling.

Day 10: Golden Monkey Trekking & Drive to Uganda

Begin the day with a golden monkey trekking adventure, where you’ll watch these playful primates leap from tree to tree. Later, cross into Uganda and journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Check in at your lodge and relax in the midst of the beautiful rainforest scenery.

Day 11: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Another extraordinary day of gorilla trekking awaits! Venture into the thick jungle of Bwindi with experienced trackers, where you’ll spend an unforgettable hour with a gorilla family. Take in every moment, from their gentle interactions to their curious gazes. Afterward, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest.

Day 12: Return to Kigali & Departure

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a final city tour or a visit to the Genocide Memorial. Your guide will then take you to the airport, marking the end of your incredible 12-day adventure through Rwanda and Uganda.
