Day 1: Arrival in Arusha, Tanzania

Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a warm welcome awaits you. Transfer to your luxurious coffee plantation lodge in Arusha, surrounded by lush greenery and the aroma of Tanzania’s world-famous coffee. Unwind, enjoy a delicious dinner, and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Scenic Drive to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and diverse bird species. Day 11: Final Game Drive & Flight to Entebbe, Uganda

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your safari guide will warmly welcome you. After a short briefing, you will drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey takes about 4 hours, passing through scenic landscapes, Maasai villages, and rolling hills.

Upon reaching Ngorongoro, you will check into your lodge and later set out for a guided walking safari. Accompanied by an experienced ranger, you will explore the breathtaking scenery on foot, getting close to zebras, antelopes, and bird species while soaking in the fresh African air. After the walk, return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Maasai Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the “Eden of Africa” due to its dense wildlife population. This is one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five, including black rhinos, lions, and elephants. Watch out for flamingos in the soda lakes and large herds of zebras and wildebeests grazing nearby.

In the afternoon, visit a Maasai Boma to learn about the rich culture of the Maasai people. Engage in their traditional dances, witness their unique way of life, and hear fascinating stories about their ancient traditions. After this experience, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Serengeti National Park and Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, you will leave Ngorongoro and drive towards Serengeti National Park, famous for its vast savannahs and abundant wildlife. The journey offers incredible views of the endless plains and occasional wildlife sightings along the way.

Upon arrival, enjoy an evening game drive in the park, where you might spot lions resting in the grass, cheetahs scanning the horizon, or elephants moving in large herds. As the sun sets, you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. After breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive, covering different areas of the park. The Serengeti is home to Africa’s largest concentration of predators, including lions, leopards, and hyenas.

If you visit during the Great Migration season, you may witness thousands of wildebeests and zebras moving in search of fresh grass, often pursued by crocodiles in the rivers. In the evening, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 5: Another Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti (Optional Hot Air Balloon Safari)

Rise early for another day of exploration. If you choose, you can start the morning with a breathtaking hot air balloon safari, soaring over the Serengeti plains at sunrise. This offers a unique perspective of the landscape and wildlife below.

Spend the rest of the day on game drives, searching for elusive leopards, cheetahs sprinting across the plains, and herds of elephants moving majestically. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before continuing your adventure. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Drive Back to Arusha

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive back to Arusha. This is a scenic journey with chances to spot wildlife along the way. Upon arrival in Arusha, check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 7: Flight from Arusha to Entebbe, Uganda

After breakfast, your driver will transfer you to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight to Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. Upon arrival, you will be met by a new guide who will take you to your hotel in Entebbe for check-in and relaxation.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, begin the long but scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to Uganda’s famous mountain gorillas. The journey takes about 8-9 hours, but you will have several stops along the way.

One highlight is the Equator stop, where you can take fun photos and learn about the geographical significance of this spot. Enjoy an en-route lunch before continuing through the beautiful Kigezi Highlands, often called the “Switzerland of Africa.” Upon arrival at your lodge in Bwindi, check in, enjoy dinner, and rest for the big adventure ahead.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

This is the most exciting day of the safari! After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines. You will then be assigned a gorilla family and set off into the dense jungle with an experienced ranger.

Gorilla trekking can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas. The trek itself is an adventure, taking you through thick vegetation, up hills, and across streams. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend an unforgettable hour observing them—watching them play, groom each other, and interact.

After the trek, you will return to the starting point to receive your gorilla trekking certificate. Head back to your lodge for a well-deserved rest, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 10: Drive to Entebbe for Departure

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Entebbe. Along the way, enjoy the changing landscapes and occasional wildlife sightings. You will have a lunch stop en route before continuing to the airport for your departure flight or checking into a hotel in Entebbe.

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a final city tour or a visit to the Genocide Memorial. Your guide will then take you to the airport, marking the end of your incredible 12-day adventure through Rwanda and Uganda.
