Arrival at the Kigali International Airport, meet and greet with the guide and give you a short briefing about the trip. Transfer to the Hotel, check in and acclimatize to the climate of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight
Breakfast and drive to Volcanoes National Park. Arrival, check in at the hotel and have lunch. Afternoon visit the Buhanga eco-park, a very rich forest in terms of history. That is the place where all Rwandan Kings were initiated. Dinner and overnight
After breakfast return to the park to trek the few population and rare golden monkeys. Afternoon visit the beautiful twin Lakes – Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight
Early breakfast followed by the drive to the park headquarters for the registrations and briefing before embarking on a once in a lifetime trek of the critically endangered mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching them closely. Be back at the base, have lunch at the hotel and refresh later hit the road to Gisenyi at the Lake Kivu (1 hours plus drive) arrival and enjoy the evening at the Lake shore. Dinner and overnight
After breakfast drive to the fishing village to learn more fishing techniques and do the boat ride with traditional fishermen. Later visit the hot spring and enjoy the massage from locals. Dinner and overnight
Enjoy the breakfast at the hotel with beautiful sunrise views at the shore of the lake later drive to Nyungwe National Park. This national park is the largest tropical afro Montane rainforest east or central Africa and a rainforest it is and receives over 2000mm of rain each year and its Rwanda’s largest water catchment area and its home to 2/3rds of all Rwanda’s water. The forest also feeds both the river Congo and the River Nile with water. Nyungwe is also home to over 300 different bird species, many butterflies, orchids, 75 mammal species including the 13 primates, and there have also been the sightings of the golden monkeys. Have stops along the way to take good pictures, etc. Arrival, check in at the hotel and get enough time to acclimatize to the weather of the forest. Dinner and overnight
Early breakfast transfer to the park reception (Uwinka) for brienfing and grouping before you transfer to the edge of the forest to trach Chimpanzees, as you hike you will be hearing their deafening screams, their hoots, and cackles. Unlike with the Mountain Gorillas who are quite calm as you visit them, the chimpanzees are on the move both on the ground and in the Trees. You get one hour with the chimpanzees in Nyungwe, one hour that is quite memorable. Afternoon visit the famous canopy walk way, a 70 m high artificial bridge. Dinner and overnight
Breakfast then return to the park reception for briefing and grouping then start the hike to the beautiful waterfall. Dinner and overnight
After breakfast drive from Nyungwe forest to Kigali. Enroute visit Butare where the Ethnographic museum (it used to be the Rwanda National Museum) is located, very big museum rich in history. You get to explore how Rwandans lived, their dressing, cooking, entertaining methods, etc. Later visit the King’s palace in Nyanza and traditional Rwanda homes.
Proceed to Kigali and to Airport.
